Player Eligibility

As with most every Indiana youth soccer league, the Valpo Soccer Club is bound by a set of rules, policies, requirements, and bylaws. As agreed upon by our governing board of directors, our Northwest Indiana soccer club adheres to a foundation established by our Indiana soccer league rules and policies.

From kid’s soccer and youth soccer eligibility requirements to the operating bylaws and constitution of our Indiana youth soccer club, the Valpo Soccer Club operates under and upholds the standards defined in our organizational bylaws.

The foundational rules and policies that support our Indiana soccer league adhere to standards set by the Soccer Association for Youth (SAY), as well as the Northwest Indiana Soccer League (NWISL). Other kid’s soccer and youth soccer teams that the Valpo Soccer Club plays in regular competition within the NWISL have similar rules, policies and bylaws and operate under similar requirements and restrictions as our Indiana youth soccer league does.

Of particular interest to kid’s soccer and youth soccer players in our Northwest Indiana soccer club is player age eligibility requirements.

Our Indiana youth soccer league offers kids soccer and youth soccer for ages six to fourteen. Recreational youth soccer in Northwest Indiana fosters a bond between kids and team sports, and demonstrates to parents why kids should play sports - kid’s sports like soccer for kids.

Depending upon a player’s age at of the cutoff date of the seasonal year, players will be eligible for specific kid’s soccer and youth soccer teams.

Player Eligibility

Eligibility for age groups shall be determined by a player’s age on August 1 of the seasonal year.

U08 DIVISION DOB: 08-01-00 to 07-31-02	U12 DIVISION DOB: 08-01-96 to 07-31-98
U10 DIVISION DOB: 08-01-98 to 07-31-00	U14 DIVISION DOB: 08-01-94 to 07-31-96

Player eligibility will be governed by rules established by the Soccer Association for Youth (SAY). All players residing within the Valparaiso, Indiana district will be eligible to play with the Valpo Soccer Club. Players outside the Valparaiso, Indiana district will need a completed waiver from their district to be filed with the Northwest Indiana Soccer League (NWISL) to be eligible to play for the Valpo Soccer Club.
