Yes, Summer is almost over.  And that means soccer!Given we have a Monday practice slot, that doesn't leave a lot of time for a team meeting this week.  I just got the uniforms and information from the league yesterday, so things are a bit tight.Given this, let's do the team meeting before the first practice.  Please plan on bringing your child 30minutes early to practice this Monday arrive 5pm at Laureola Park in East San Carlos.  Parents will need to be there from 5 - 5:30, then practice will be 5:30 - 6:30.Equipment etc:Please also make sure your girls arrive with soccer cleats or sneakers (no baseball cleats allowed etc), soccer socks and shin guards.  Everything else is pretty easy if we get that part right and we all show up on time!If you have a soccer ball, please bring it.  We use size 3.  I have 5 balls that I was given, but that leaves us a few short.AYSO does not allow any jewelry.  There are lots of areas we can bend things a bit, but this is not one of them.  If your child must get her ears pierced, do it after the season pls.This season is going to about having fun.  Your coaches are not going to try and 'win' games, but instead teach sound fundamentals of soccer and hope the girls have fun.We will need some volunteers as well.  Please get your excuses ready (they won't work unless they are really good), cause we need the following:Team Parent - Manages the Blue Sombrero Site (still don't have the login from the league yet), sends out notices, general team communication etcTeam Photographer - Take pictures of the girls and upload them to the Blue Sombrero site.Referees - We need 2-3 Referees that will officiate the games.  U8 is fun to referee.  Your kids will love you for it.  Plus you get exercise and get to boss people around.  Super Fun!  Training is 2hrs in Sept.  I will have the dates Monday.See you Monday.  Don't forget to acknowledge you have received this post, and hopefully future communication will be through Blue Sombrero.  What did I forget?Thanks!Coaches Jamie, Kent and Todd.Jamie Cell: 650-533-8734PS: If you have another email you would like to be added, please request access to this site from that email.  I will make sure those get added to Blue Sombrero once we get that going.
